In the school year of 2007 and 2008 the West Valley School District #
1 in Kalispell, Montana decided to replace their old wooden playground which was failing apart and rotting. The children could no longer be safe on playground structure and the school needed to find a replacement which was sturdy and strong and that would last the school several years with little maintenance. Our team at Summit Recreation went to work on providing various suggestions and renditions of a playground structure that would appeal to the children and would give more play value. Dan Anderson Assistant Principal of the School District together with Phil Jackson, Head of Maintenance collaborated with us to create a perfect solution for the children. We chose pieces and components that would challenge the climbing and coordination skills and strengths of the participants while having a fun and joyful play experience.
To save on costs it was decided that the installation of the playground would be done by a community installation team supervised by Summit Recreation. Mr. Anderson stated, “The playground is a huge success thanks to Summit Recreation! I have witnessed as many as 67 students playing on the playground at one time. I highly recommend Summit Recreation and their team to any school or organization that may be looking for a new playground system.”
