Approximately six years ago, Nike set out to diligently find a playground surfacing company to partner with that could incorporate the Nike “Reuse a Shoe” program and their recycled athletic shoes into a custom playground surfacing product. After a worldwide search, Playtop was ultimately selected by Nike as the exclusive partner to incorporate “Nike Grind” into a unique playground surfacing.
Playtop was selected as they are known worldwide as the oldest poured-in-place surfacing company with over 35 years of experience. Additionally, they were chosen due to the fact that they have a very unique product which actually creates a mechanical bond between the base cushion layer and the EPDM top cap, unlike any other surfacing product found on the market today!
Together with this unique combination of a superior product and the ability to add the “Nike Grind” into the top cap layer, Playtop has a poured-in-place surfacing product which differentiates itself from all others!
After a long, arduous interview, and selection process, Summit Recreation was chosen as one of only five current Playtop licensees’ in the United States to represent this surfacing product. Covering Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, with our own in-house installation crews, and our “go-giver” attitude, this partnership is a perfect fit for both Playtop and Summit Recreation!
Although courted by other, larger playground manufacturers, Playtop was looking for the “right” fit as they have a very unique product and want the absolute highest standard when representing their product line. For this, we are honored to be a Playtop licensee.
We are always happy to stop by and show our new products to you personally, and help in designing and building all of your recreational project needs.
